Description:
God has been bringing about this moment for many years as I reflect back. Here is my backstory in brevity. My ministry journey began in my late teens, early 20’s with volunteering with youth ministries in whichever church we were attending. I came to freedom in Christ through applying true, Biblical repentance and forgiveness to past events and into my daily life in 2011. That freedom and healing opened the door to teaching this good news to over three-quarters of our church at that time. Whether it was through women studies, couple studies, youth ministry or conferences. In 2018, I went back to school and received my degree in Ministerial Leadership at Southeastern University in 2020. In September 2020, I received my Credential Of Pastoral Ministry with NorCal/Nevada District of the Assemblies of God.
In 2024, I started a youth group in our home and felt led to minister to youth on a more full time basis. Through relationships that have been built over the past many years with students, families and school administrations, I was able to have campus ministry at Hickman Middle School and Hughson High School. I partnered with the already existing faith-based Bible club at Waterford High School. It has been evident during this season that God has called me to this geographical area and that, for now, that is where my ministry focus will remain. In addition, I am excited to share that Waterford Junior High has been added to the list of schools I will be at in the 2025-2026 school year.
My ministry with students consists of weekly meetings on campus with students who desire to attend for purposes of fellowship, Bible study and discipleship. I am also available to meet off campus with any student who needs/desires a spiritual mentoring relationship. Additionally, I provide lay counseling opportunities for students who find themselves in need of such support.
My ministry is called- LIFE Ministry. LIFE is an acronym that stands for Life Abundantly, Inspire, Freedom, Equip- all things that I hope to instill into this next generation during our time together.
Scriptural foundation for LIFE:
L- He came to give us LIFE that “they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10).
I- Jesus came to INSPIRE us to live a life of joy, peace, power and strength (Romans 15:13, Joshua 1:9, Ephesians 3:16-19)
F- Jesus offers FREEDOM. He came to “proclaim liberty to the captives” and “liberty to those who are oppressed” (Luke 4:18, Isaiah 61:1).
E - Jesus came to EQUIP. Following Jesus means we will be equipped to do ministry for the sake of the Kingdom and to build up the church (Ephesians 4:12). He also equips us to live a life of righteousness and holiness through the power of Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:3)
As I have shared the calling on my life with many people now, I know that working with middle school and high school students is not for everyone, but it is for me ~ “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” (Isaiah 6:8) Allow our partnership to be a blessing to you as it is to our next generation. I appreciate your prayerful decision to partner with me in doing our part to spread the Gospel in our local, rural community as one would unto the world ~ “He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.’” (Mark 16:15)
