Description:

Hurricane Helene left a devastating mark on Western North Carolina, upending lives and communities. While attention has been focused on Asheville, many smaller towns and rural areas across the region—including Boone and its neighbors—have been left behind, struggling to receive the resources and aid they desperately need. These tight-knit communities, often overlooked in disaster relief efforts, are home to families and friends who have lost everything.

New Era Academy (NEA) has stepped in to help bridge this gap. With a $10,000 grant from United Way, we’re actively delivering food, water, and supplies to the hardest-hit areas. But this grant is restricted to immediate needs, leaving little room to address the broader, long-term recovery these communities desperately need.

From Boone to other rural areas in Western NC, families need more than supplies. They need financial support to rebuild homes, businesses, and lives. That’s why we’re launching this campaign—to provide relief beyond the basics and give these communities a fighting chance to recover and thrive.

At New Era Academy, our mission has always been to support underserved communities, whether through education or disaster relief. While our focus is typically on empowering youth, Hurricane Helene has called us to expand our efforts. We’re leveraging our network and resources to ensure that families across Western NC—including friends, coworkers, and neighbors in Boone and beyond—receive the help they urgently need.

We’re uniquely positioned to bring aid to these overlooked communities because of our local connections and the trust we’ve built in the region. Your donation ensures that resources are distributed efficiently and where they’re most needed.

Even if you can’t donate today, you can help us by spreading awareness. Share our campaign on social media, email your network, or simply tell a friend. Together, we can make a meaningful impact.

Families across Western NC are counting on us. They’ve lost homes, belongings, and a sense of security—but with your help, they can rebuild stronger than ever. Let’s stand together to show these communities that they are not forgotten.
