Sign Up for the Dinner: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/on-feb-11-2020-at-630-pm-hog-honors-randall-droke-tickets-89415695753 Gang, It is with a heavy heart that HOG is honoring Randall Droke, father of Logan Droke who passed last year, just four days shy of his 18th birthday. Randall and family are most certainly going through the most difficult time of their lives and our HOG Community is here to help the Droke family to our best abilities. Please keep the Droke family in your prayers! Logan was first diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in 2011 when he was 9 years old. He endured three years of chemo at which point the cancer went into remission. He enjoyed a somewhat normal year until it came back in July 2015. A month later, my mother in law was diagnosed with Small Cell lung cancer. The two of them went through chemo together and helped each other push through the tough times. She passed away in August 2016. Logan's cancer went in to remission a few months after and he once again was able to live like a normal kid. In January 2017, my sister in law was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma and Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. She passed away in February, one month later. Logan's cancer came back in 2018 and his doctors decided to have him undergo CAR-T Therapy. This is a type of treatment in which a patient's cells are changed in the laboratory so they will attack cancerous cells. Logan began feeling better after this therapy and experienced eight months of a somewhat normal life for a teen; high school, hanging out with friends, learning to drive and getting his first job. He was able to experience a glimpse of what living without cancer might look like. In December of 2018, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Because it was caught early and treated swiftly, she is now doing well, but she now has to take a hormone blocker for the next ten years. Logan's cancer resurfaced in April 2019. It mutated and the CAR-T cells were no longer working. Logan's doctor's began chemotherapy and are several other treatment options, but nothing was looking good. We flew Logan to MD Anderson in Houston TX in hopes that they could provide to him some treatment that was not able to be performed at Scottish Rite. They were unsuccessful and he passed away on June 23rd 2019, four days from his 18th birthday.

Mission Statement:

To raise as many dollars to help the Droke's offset a significant medical bills burden that most of us could not imagine. Thank you from the bottom of the Droke's heart.

Randall,
I wish I could think of words to comfort your loss and sorrow and strengthen you during this difficult time. While you carry the heavy lifting, family, friends, and brothers in Christ stand with you. Perhaps the lyrics from Ryan Stevenson%u2019s song will speak to you: "In the eye of the storm You remain in control and in the middle of the war You guard my soul; You alone are the anchor when my sails are torn; Your love surrounds me in the eye of the storm." Thoughts and prayers continue for you and your family. K
