The Faria and Bell families are working together to plant a church in the city of La Vega, Dominican Republic. Since late 2024, they have been meeting for Bible Study on Sundays in the Bell’s rented home. Because of the staunch Catholicism in La Vega, there is the mindset there that a church must have a building. As a result, few people have been willing to visit services in the Bell’s home to this point. Recently, the opportunity came up to purchase an already existing church building in the area where they are working for $223,000. They are seeking to raise a total of $300,000 in order to purchase the building and also make needed repairs. In addition to holding regular services, the team hopes to begin holding seminary modules for local pastors in the near future. Having a church building will enable them to do that. This building has several apartments as well which will enable them to house visiting speakers. Please prayerfully consider if the Lord would have you to be involved in meeting this need.
