We are raising money to get Katelyn a service dog.
Katelyn was adopted when she was four years old from China and diagnosed with cerebral palsy the same year. Her CP affects each child in a different way.but during her six years in America we have seen big improvements overall. She still faces some challenges though. Her vision has improved so much, but she doesn%u2019t have complete 3D vision which means she gets nervous walking on uneven surfaces, down stairs, etc. She loses her balance and would hold someone%u2019s hand ALL the time, if she could. And she tires easily, which will always be a challenge for her. Now that she%u2019s getting ready to start middle school in the fall (eek!) we are looking for ways to help her be as confident, happy, and safe as possible (while meeting her needs). When we saw Katelyn walking with such confidence within minutes of meeting a service dog, we were amazed! She was walking across an uneven field without hesitation and with the biggest smile on her face. Her service dog would be trained to meet her specific needs and could give her the independence every ten year old wants and needs.

I had an uncle with severe cerebral palsy. Doctors said he wasn't going to live to 4, he lived to be 2 weeks shy of 40. He was the most loving and happy human I have ever met. I hope this small amount will help you get a bit closer to your goals! xoxoxoxo
Hoping DeAnna gets her service dog and more importantly her confidence.
