Help Launch Our Next chapter in Ghent
Description:
Dear friends and partners,
We are so grateful for you. Your generosity, prayers, and faith have made it possible for us to step into God’s calling and to plant and serve the church in Lisbon. You have been part of every life touched, every seed sown, and every step of this journey.
When God first called us into mission, and later into church planting, we said yes—without fully knowing what the journey would hold. Through your partnership, we have seen Him do more than we could have imagined.
Today, we want to share an important update with you.
Over the past year, we have sensed God leading us toward a transition. We have taken time to pray, seek wise counsel, and carefully discern His direction. Through multiple confirmations, it has become clear that God is calling us into a new chapter.
We believe that our assignment in Lisbon is coming to an end and that God is leading us to Ghent, Belgium and we will be moving on July 14, 2026. There, we will continue our mission of making disciples, raising leaders, and equipping people to live out the gospel in their communities. We are excited to invest in people, strengthen local ministry, and help develop leaders who will, in turn, reach others for Christ.
Lisbon and its people have become deeply woven into our story. We are incredibly grateful for all that God has done here and for the privilege of serving alongside so many wonderful people. As we prepare to leave, we do so with full hearts and great expectation for what lies ahead.
One of the greatest encouragements during this transition has been seeing God faithfully provide for our family. As we stepped forward in faith, one of our biggest concerns was finding a home in Ghent. Yet God opened a door we could never have arranged ourselves. We will be renting the home of another missionary couple, providing us with a place to settle and begin this new chapter. In addition, our children already have a school secured for the coming year. These provisions have been powerful reminders that God goes before us and prepares the way.
While God has already provided so much, there are still significant practical costs involved in relocating our family and ministry. We are therefore launching a special transition fund to help cover the expenses of moving from Lisbon to Ghent. These costs include transportation and moving expenses, the rental deposit and setup costs for our new home, insurance requirements, and various closing costs associated with completing this chapter in Lisbon.
Would you prayerfully consider making a special gift toward this transition? Every contribution, whether large or small, will help us establish our family and ministry in Ghent and allow us to begin this new chapter well.
We would also love to invite you to continue partnering with us beyond the move. Ongoing financial support enables us to focus on the work God has called us to- making disciples, raising leaders, strengthening the local church, and investing in people for long-term Kingdom impact. If you are not currently one of our monthly partners, we would be honored to have you join our ministry partnership team.
Thank you for walking with us through every chapter. We would not be here without your prayers, encouragement, generosity, and friendship. As we look ahead to this next chapter, we do so with faith, gratitude, and anticipation for all that God will do.
With love and gratitude,
Elvis & Joyce
