Hi Friends and Family, For years now the Lord has been growing a burning desire in me to be on mission with Him. My heart is burdened for people who endure the worst of circumstances through abuse, rape, substance addiction, prostitution or human trafficking, especially young women. I long for them to understand and to know the deep grace and love of God that offers freedom. While studying for a degree to help such victims, I have also continually prayed and sought opportunities to minister in or learn more about these areas of need. In the spring of 2017, I attended a conference that exposed me to the work of International Justice Mission (IJM) and the brutal realities of human trafficking all around the world. I was able to bend my knees next to a friend as I prayed for God's mercy on behalf of victims in Africa and was challenged by the testimony of multiple survivors as well as a government official from Central America. I became aware that cybersex trafficking is on the rise in Asia since the English language facilitates western demand. With Christ as its model for justice and true freedom, IJM stands in the midst of the brokenness as an organization that investigates cases of human trafficking, prosecutes criminals, and provides aftercare for survivors. I just earned my degree from Liberty University, and God has now opened a door for me to do a one-year internship with an IJM office in the Philippines. The process began in April when I applied for the position and continued through a couple of interviews before I was officially offered the position by IJM staff in June. As I spent time in prayer, researched the possibility, and discussed it with mentors, it became very clear that this opportunity was one that would expand my knowledge of human trafficking all the while giving me a chance to see a community of God actively seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God" (Micah 6:8). When IJM offered me the position in the Philippines, I readily accepted with the confidence that God goes before me and with me every step of the way. Please pray for me as I prepare for this new journey that starts in January! I am beyond excited to be on the frontlines of a work that actively seeks to liberate captives. However, it will only be possible with a great deal of preparation, support and guidance along the way. Over the next few months, I will be raising support towards this mission and would love if you could partner with me.
