Description:
This is the first stage of a strategic plan to train Cuban Christians in the production and distribution of video, television and other media so they will be ready to evangelize their countrymen when Cuban media opens.
Young Cuban Christians are already using video and other media to accelerate the growth of the church on the island. With very little formal training they are producing music videos, teaching, and ministry reports. We propose to accelerate the training of a select handful of Cuban communicators by taking them to the COCIOM media and leadership conference in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, October 1-3. Other training events will follow in December and throughout 2016.
For the past 23 years COICOM, the Latin American equivalent of National Religious Broadcasters, has held yearly conventions as a platform for training, equipping, networking and missions mobilization.
Full scholarships for 6 Cuban communicators, including travel documents, visas, airfare, convention registration, food, lodging and coordination for approximately $1,500 each. Because time is short, some selected recipients have borrowed money to get a passport and start the paperwork for leaving Cuba, many for the very first time.
Mission Statement:
The spiritual transformation of Iberoamerica.
