The goal of this fundraiser is to help this family out of a jam and get ahead of the curve. Due to Claire's health issues, the time spent jumping through CPS' hoops and the astounding legal fees ($6,400 now, will be over $7,000 after next weeks' hearing), Claire and William have been financially decimated. They need just enough to get a dependable vehicle so Willie can get back and forth from work and a couple month's rent so they can start over. They are not. On 2 separate occasions, they allowed their 16 yr old and 14 yr old sons to babysit their siblings while William and their newborn visited Claire in the hospital when she had pancreatitis last month. When a (former) church member heard about the babysitting arrangements, she decided to report the family to CPS. In turn, CPS illegally removed the children and charged the parents with, "neglectful supervision". What it all boils down to is that they are a tight knit family with Christian values who home school their children. Because CPS staff has trouble personally identifying with their lifestyle, they have been unfairly persecuted and dragged into the Texas court system for no other reason than having a large family and the misfortune of Claire's unforeseeable health issues.
