Mission Statement:
On the morning of July 13th, our niece, 5 year-old Rosalie Hernandez, had an asthma attack. Our sister, Maritza, treated her like she normally would and tried to calm her down. Eventually, she became limp and non-responsive. After calling 911, my sister was asked to perform CPR. When the emergency responders came, they tried their best to revive her. Rosalie was flown to LAC USC Medical Center where she was placed on life support in hopes that her brain function would return. After a series of tests and 2 days of waiting and prayer, her parents, Maritza and Gabriel, and her brother, Miguel, had to let her go.
Maritza and Gabriel are the most loving and caring parents and we have always tried to model them as parents and in life. If there can be any positives in this situation, it's that they both are still willing to give one of their most precious possessions to better the world for others. Rosalie's organs were healthy and have been donated to kids and adults that were hoping for a miracle, just like she was.
This has been devastating and we hope that our friends and family will help to support our brother, sister, and nephew during this time. Funds raised will be used for funeral costs, medical bills, and other household bills that may need to be covered while our brother and sister take time off of work to grieve.
