We wanted to reach out to friends and family who have been so supportive of us over the years and share some news with each of you that we have only talked about to a few so far. We have tried since we have been married (16 years in May) to have children but God has chosen not to open that door for us, even when we have tried IVF in the past, attended foster care meetings and sought out opportunities for adoption, that door has not been open. God, in his timing, has decided that now is the time he is opening the door for us to adopt. The birth mother is an acquaintance of a friend of a co-workers daughter (It is hard to follow, but just think of it as Gods plan. That makes it easier). She is having a boy, due in June, and we are pursuing a private adoption. The mother already has three children and is not at a place in her life right now where she can care for another child but wants him to have a home where he would be so loved. We have met with her a few times, but she lives 3 1/2 hours away so we continue to be in touch through the phone and text. Due to the cost of a private adoption plus home study costs, we are wanting to share this with anyone who would want to support us in prayer or financial support. This door has opened for us during a time when we are about two months from finishing a cumbersome year long home remodel which has stretched our finances thin, but God has provided for this as well. We are firm believers in prayer and do not want anyone to feel obligated to give, but if you can, it would be appreciated. If you are not able to give please pray, specifically for: the amazing birth mother, a healthy baby boy, and us that we would remain faithful in the process and trust in God.
