It is amazing how God works. We are with our three children every day listening to them talk, and two and a half years ago, God spoke to us through them. It was at that time that our kids became acutely aware that there are children in this world without a mom and dad. They became passionate about the idea of adoption and wondered if it was something our family could do. Our home has a mom and dad and three children that have a lot of love to give. Could we provide a home for a child that did not have tuck-ins or bedtime stories? Could we provide a forever family to a child that needed one? After a few family meetings and much prayer, my husband opened his Bible for guidance. The first verse he saw was Isaiah 43:5. Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. We had our answer! After two long years of paperwork and waiting, we were finally matched with a beautiful little girl from China. Her given name is Anmeng Hua, and we have decided to name her Ruby. She was abandoned when she was only a few days old and weighed a mere 3 pounds. She is now 21 months old and has medical needs that need to be addressed when we bring her home. We are working very hard to travel to her as soon as possible. God's plans are always better than ours! We've learned that His timing is perfect, even when we think we know better. We trust that God is doing amazing things for Ruby through this process. We are overjoyed that he chose us to be this little girl's family moving forward. God is writing her story, and we are amazed to see Him at work in this tiny child's life. We ask that you would pray for us as we travel to China (hopefully as soon as the end of June), and please pray for Ruby and this upcoming transition in her life. Many friends and family have asked how they can help. We started this continue to give page to help offset the cost of adoption, which is, unfortunately, quite expensive.
